Calaisa at Dalhalla

Tomorrow July 30 we are playing at the beautiful arena of Rättvik, "Dalhalla", supporting Carlene Carter. "Dalhalla" is an old quarry with a small lake and room for 4000 people, surrounded by the deep forest. As the supporting act we will, off course, open for the head act, but the concert visitors will also see us play a song together with Carlene. Which song, willl remain a secret til tomorrow .

Congratulations Victoria!

We had the honor of playing for Crownprincess Viktoria on her 30th birthday on Saturday July 14. It was a beautiful day in Borgholm on Öland. It started with rehearsals together with the musicians and the TV crew. At 6.30pm the Royal Family arrived and Calaisa opened up the concert by singing the King's song. We would be lying if we said we weren't nervous, with milions of viewers, and the Royal Family 3 meters infront of us. We did our own version of the King's song, a very traditional song that has been performed hundreds of times before, fortunately the King seemed to like it:)
Later in the show we sang "Sisters in arms" and in the end all the artists performed together. It's always nice to work with other great artists and collegues, and we would especially like to thank Blacknus for backing us up in such a perfect way!
The whole show can be seen on the web. Check out the link to your left.

We hope that Crownprincess Viktoria had a great birthday and enjoyed the concert.

A full square in Kristianstad

Last Friday's gig in Kristianstad was great, and a lot of Calaisa fans showed up and filled the square. It fellt good to be back in Southern Sweden again, and we must say our Skåne-fans are something else!
This also seemed like the first time in very long that we were lucky with the weather. After 3 gigs in rain the sun was actually shining on Calaisa :)

070707

We played in Sundsvall last Saturday. It was the 7th day of the 7th month in year 2007, we were supposed to go on stage at 7pm, and there were 7 of us traveling together... it was meant to be trouble, and so it was.
After the usual fight with the check-in woman, about flying with too many and heavy instruments, we found out that the flight was delayed...... 5 hours!
Since we already had a tight schedule, we realized we wouldn't make it to the gig. Fortunately the wonderful arrangers of the festival were very accommodating and managed to move our gig time to 12pm and when we finally arrived around 10, we got the best reception and help.
During our set the rain was pouring down, but our faithful Sundsvall fans supported us and sang along, which makes Sundsvall and its nice inhabitants our favourite place right now :)
Lets see if Kristianstad on Friday can match this!

After a great evening with a good gig and a nice after party, but a night with too few hours sleep, we were back at Arlanda airport, and found out that our flight was cancelled! This time though, we managed to change our tickets, and an hour later than planned, we were on the plane to Copenhagen.
On Kastrup airport our luggage was 45 minutes late, and we had to wait half an hour for our cab!

Much fuzz for an hour on stage! But it was all worth it!

Summer night in Skellefteå

After a quite long jorney, through Stockholm, we arrived in Skellefteå on saturday afternoon. Salem Al Fakir and his band joined us on the flight from Stockholm, and we all checked in at the hotel where all the bands stayed.
Calaisa played at 8 pm on the Nordic Light stage. It was nice to meet our northern fans, and we hope to see some of you again in Furuvik, as promised :)

After the gig we listened to some of the other bands, and experienced for the fisrst time the never-descending sun of Northern Sweden in the summer. By the time the after-party started around 1 am, it was still bright and felt like it was 8 pm. Strange to go to bed in daylight, but beautiful.
