New partner - new shoes!

Last week we received a package by snail-mail from our new partner. Like an early Christmas present.
It was the four pair of nice leather shoes in different styles and shapes that we have chosen from Catarina Martins Winter -10 collection. Beautiful!

Finally...

...we are done recording and are now listening to mixes. It sounds great, and yesterday we had the first mixing meeting between the four of us, to write down our feedback for Dyre on the rough mixes. Lyckily we agreed pretty much on what needed to be fixed and hope the Suppliers don't think we are being too picky.
Maybe this week we will have the second round of rough mixes to listen to.

Last busy day...

...at Kensaltown Studio. We're in pretty good shape.
Anna's singing (surfing a little between takes), Nik is recording, the other Nik is comping vocals, Kris just arrived from China and is telling us about the disastrous concert in Shanghai (or somewhere), Lisa is out walking, Malin is probably enjoying a good cocktail in Barcelona, Caisa is feeding Svante.
Busy busy busy.

Passing time

All this waiting in the studio is really bad for the figure. A whole bowl of hummus accidentally slipped down our tummies just now. It was the best hummus we had ever eaten, bought in a Palestinian restaurant on Golborne road. We strongly recommend!

Anyway, Malin left London this afternoon after finishing her parts. She felt she had something better to do (like cruising the Mediterranean). Now the rest of us are working on our songs, and if we can stay awake and achieve some good things tonight we might actually be done after tomorrow as planned.

Fifth round in London

We are back in the old hoods, it feels like home. Same hotel, same people, same lunch places...
We arrived this morning and have started singing some lead vocals while Nic is comping another vocal and Dyre is mixing third song. This week we have to be done with the album, which means hard, intense work.
Hard work work...

Late night at Tambourine

We called poor Fredrik yesterday for a quick last minute session in the studio before our meetings in Stockholm Monday and Tuesday next week. As usual he helped us out, and we brought him some wine to make it a proper Friday night for him, although working.

We're going to Stockholm to present our 3rd album to a bunch of record companies and publishers, to see if we can find a partner for the release.
Our first album was released on a MAJOR record company with a proper artist deal where the label pays for everything, owns everything and also earns everything.
The second album was released on our own record company (a co-operation with Tambourine studios), where we own all the rights to the recordings, but have to pay for everything ourselves. That meant a lot of hard work, and some worry.
The question is what model we will use this time. The album is finished (almost), but the rest... ? Exciting!

Well the album isn't really done yet, and we're actually going back to London to finish it. We still have some harmonies to sing and then the whole mixing part. Can be nice to hang out in London, sing a few lines and listen to some mixes. And nice to close the project and hear the final result.
