Music music music

For the 3:rd time this year we visited beautiful Karlskrona to play at "Sailet" last Friday.
Unfortunately the gig was over way too fast and we had to go back to Malmö and couldn't stay and enjoy the nice coast city, full of happy festival-people drinking beer in the sunset.
...next time...

Tonight Lisa is back from Barcelona and the four of us are meeting at Malin’s place to plan the weekend.
We are going to Gothenburg tomorrow, to attend a big meeting for managers from the whole world, to listen and learn about the worldwide music industry.
Knowledge that can be good to have if you want to be on top of the world :)

In the evening we play in Ängelholm at "Ljusfesten", where we will also shoot some of the scenes for our new video. So people in the audience: dress up nice! :)

Saturday we're back in Gothenburg to enjoy other great artists that are playing at Way out West, like for instance Neil Young, Håkan Hellström and Fleet Foxes.
It's always nice to be entertained!!!

From the writing session with Maia Sharp

Maia Sharp wrote "You are mine" together with Liz Rose, and when Maia was here in Sweden to write songs with us we had the honor to sing it together with her.

Multi musicians!

Calaisa's second album is slowly but surely taking form. The recording process though takes quite some time, we have discovered. I don't know, but it could have something to do with our new philosophy.... the more we do ourselves the better.
Since none of us is a real drum-kit-player (Anna plays percussion, but that’s not quite the same) we sometimes have to co-operate to get the right sound.
In the last song Malin does the opening and closing of the hi-hat while Anna does the drumming. Probably harder than doing it all yourself, even for a non-drummer, but it's certainly more fun this way.
Although it might be hard to hear in this video the result was really good

Back in business

Today we all got together again after a week off in Rhodos/Skagen/Karlskrona/Malmö. We started planning the next few weeks of finishing half written songs, recording some demos, making a music video, setting up a new website and taking some new photos for the coming record. There's a lot of thing to be done, but it's fun work.

Summer tour 2008

Malmö Saturday - Kristianstad Monday - Ystad Tuesday - Gothenburg Wednesday - Läckö Friday - and today Svedala.
We're on our compact Swedish Summer Tour 2008! Traveling around in our bus playing different venues and outdoor stages.

We started off with an insanely hot gig at Folkets park” in Malmö. The sun was blazing right on the stage and we were sweating like crazy.

Monday we did a live radio-broadcasted show at the Little square in Kristianstad, guesting the show "Peppar och Salt".

Next stop was "Saltsjöbaden" in Ystad, a Spa-hotel right by the Baltic Sea. Because of the rain earlier that day the majority of us decided to play the concert inside and not on the outdoor stage with a sea view. I was not totally happy with that, but the show went really great and being inside created a really intimate feeling between us and the audience, who by the way was fabulous.

At Lisseberg we played on the "Taube-stage" in front of a huge crowd. Don't think that there was room for one more person in the audience, and it was nice to see that we have so many fans in Gothenburg. We haven’t played there very much, but we will certainly come back!
After the gig we took a ride with “Balder”, the famous, wooden roller coaster. A nice adrenaline kick!

Yesterday we drove to Läckö Castle outside of Lidköpng to play together with Jill Johnsson and Magnus Uggla. It was a beautiful place to play at. The Castle with the huge field in front of it was situated right by “Vänern”. It kind of reminded us of our tour with Simply Red, where we played at Castles all over England.
The rain stopped an hour before we went on stage, so the audience could enjoy the show without getting wet. Good, because a happy audience means a happy Calaisa.

Now we’re on our way to “Svedala Rock”, which will be the last gig of this tour week. It feels good to end it in Skåne, and we know our Skåne-fans wont let us down.
