Stockholm

Yesterday we played in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm. It was a beautiful day and the sun was shining. We have played in Kungsträdgården before, many years ago, and it felt good to be back, the stage is so nice and big. Although we got the gig only a week ago, and didn't have time to advertise very much, quite a lot of people showed up. After the gig we went straight back to Malmö, and unfortunately had no time to spend in Stockholm, only enough to grab a quick bite and a beer.

A visit from Iceland

Our friends from Iceland, Gareth and Anna, came to visit this weekend. We met Gareth a few years ago on the Copenhagen airport when we were on our way to Dublin. He got us many gigs on Ireland and eventually, when he lived in the USA, he fixed us gigs in Nashville, which led to us meeting James Stroud… You could say we have a lot to thank him for, but that is another story. This weekend we threw them a Swedish barbeque party and watched the Eurovision Song Contest, as did everyone else in Sweden. Unfortunately Sweden didn’t do so good, but we had a great night anyway. It was nice to see them both again after a long time. Next time they come they will be one more, since there’s a baby on the way!

Calaisa Summer tour

This summer Calaisa goes on tour in Sweden. We will take with us two musicians from Malmo, Marcus Liljekvist on drums and Sebastian Lilja on guitar. It's a lot of fun planning a tour and we are working in the rehersal room to create a great show. It's our first big tour in Scandinavia and we are really looking forward to travel around Sweden and play on the big scenes. On Sunday 20 May we start early with a concert in Kungsträdgården, Stockholm. Hope to see you there!

Calaisa and Ferrari

Ferrari turns 60 this year. This is celebrated with a huge ferrari relay across the world. Ferrari drivers gather to drive through their country and pass on a baton to the next. This Thursday the procession was in Malmo and had a party at the Twisted Torso. We were invited, played a few songs for them and admired their fancy cars. It was a nice party, good food, and a beautiful view of the sea. We had a great time.
The next day the drivers occupied the "Öresunds bridge" and handed over the baton to the Danish drivers.
